① After being heated, the molecular structure of thermosetting plastics is converted into a network or body shape and solidified. After hardening, it cannot be softened again even if heated.
The characteristics of this material are hard texture, good heat resistance, relatively stable size, and insoluble in solvents. Common ones include phenolic resin (PF), epoxy resin (EP), unsaturated polyester (UP), etc.
② Thermoplastic plastic softens and melts under heated conditions, and is shaped after cooling. And it can be repeated many times and always has plasticity. What happens during processing is physical change.
Common ones include polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polystyrene (PS) and their modified varieties, ABS, nylon (PA), polyoxymethylene (POM), polycarbonate (PC), organic glass (PMMA), etc.
The molding process of this type of plastic is relatively simple under a certain plasticizing temperature and appropriate pressure, and its plastic products have different physical and mechanical properties.
